Family Connections

"If opportunity doesn't knock,
build a door."

A hand up not a hand out.

Family Connections links about 1,500 people a year with needed resources by networking with many sectors of the community. This award winning program is a successful collaboration of over 50 partners consisting of public agencies, other non‐profits, faith based organizations, and generous business leaders. Since the economic crisis we have seen a tremendous increase (500%) in families seeking assistance. Family Connections has made a significant impact in our community as it acts as a safety net to many families with multiple needs who would otherwise be left in grave circumstances with no hope of change.Family Connections literally works to “connect” families to the resources they need. Our staff works with local agencies, faith-based and civic organizations, non-profit agencies, business leaders and interested community members to link clients to the services they need.

What we do:

  • Work with Clients to pinpoint their needs
  • Develop a plan of action
  • Research and find resources to meet those needs
  • Connect clients to resources
  • Partner with clients to ensure progress

We Connect our families with:

  • Help with Budgeting Finances
  • Parenting Classes
  • Transportation
  • Financial Assistance
  • And much more

If you need help locating a resource or finding a service, call 410-641-4598 / 410-957-6550 or email shine@gowoyo.org. Assistance is free to all Worcester County residents.
