Diversity Statement

At Worcester Youth and Family, we work to provide equity and access to all of our community members.

In order to fulfill our Mission, we are committed to actively fostering diversity, inclusion and cultural competency throughout our programmatic, development, and operational efforts.

GOAL 1: Build our organizations’ capacity to execute long term diversity/inclusion

  • Assess the level of intercultural competency of board, staff, and volunteers
  • Design tools to increase and develop board, staff and volunteers competency
  • Increase the diversity of staff and volunteer population
  • Evaluate our diversity/inclusion activities

 

GOAL 2: Increase the number of people from diverse and underserved populations using our services and informational products

  • Develop appropriate culturally sensitive tools and literature
  • Develop and implement culturally appropriate outreach initiatives

 

GOAL 3: Increase awareness; and foster collaboration with broad range of business, community, and foundation leaders and other individuals from diverse backgrounds, perspectives and experiences.

  • Develop an outreach plan to educate the community on the disparities and disproportionality and their devastating impact on children
  • Collaborate with other and support other organizations that are addressing diversity and related workforce issues
