Welcome to the party!
Every year, Worcester Youth and Family hosts their annual fundraiser at the beautiful Sunset Grille in West OC, MD. For the last three years, we have been pruning the flowers and bringing out the Hawaiian shirts, bringing you into a beautiful tropical paradise just in time for summer. From a hand-picked menu and drinks, to games and prizes, to live music, this event is a family-friendly and festive way to give back to the community.
About us:
Worcester Youth and Family has been “shining on the shore” for 50 years! This year we celebrate our fifty years of being a community advocacy and mental health group in Worcester County. Through many iterations, we have become a name in the community people trust for effective community work including our clinical mental health counseling program, mentor/mentee services, free youth summer camp, and financial outreach Navigators. The Shine on the Shore Luau is a way for us to reach the public and say “thank you” while also raising funds to continue our programs.

The Gold Bar Lottery- Our Signature Game
When you visit us at the Luau, you may hear a buzz in the air. That’s because every year, we have our Gold Bars brought out for a game unlike any other raffle or lottery.
The Gold Bar premise is simple- buy a chocolate bar wrapped in foil. You open your golden package…and have a 1 in 5 chance of winning a gift basket from a company, local agency, or hand-picked by one of our staff. These baskets are full of goodies, from merch and gift cards to products and services- all from local agencies or small businesses. This game is a great way to experience the many awesome folks that support Worcester Youth and Family all year long!
2025 brings even more chances to win.
With our 50th Anniversary year, we are introducing a brand-new facet to our game- a chance to put in for our specialty Platinum Bars, where the goods and services are worth more and are more rare. These bars will be available during the event alongside their Golden counterparts, but promise an intriguing new level to the festivities.
