Executive Director
General Description
The Executive Director is the chief officer of the agency and has responsibility for all agency services and resources.
Salary Range
$75,000 to $100,000

Qualifications and Experience
1. Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree, preferred Master’s Degree, in a social services field or health administration.
2. At least 5 years experience in the non-profit sector.
3. Experience leading a behavioral health/social services non-profit: management, budgeting, community outreach, public relations.

6. Ability to work harmoniously and collaboratively with people at all levels of the agency.
7. Ability to analyze/evaluate situations, make decisions, and develop alternatives.
8. Knowledge of computer software programs, including Microsoft 365.
9. Ability to provide transportation, maintaining a valid driver’s license and required insurance.
10. Obtain satisfactory background check.
11. Familiarity with local area culture, community, and organizations.
Tasks and Responsibilities
1. Serves as a spokesperson for the agency in the community as the public relations representative.
2. Prepares and monitors grants for local, county, state, private, and federal funding sources.
3. Monitors community needs, determining appropriate services as they align with the agency’s mission.
4. Oversees/is responsible for quality of programs and services through regular reviews and staff meetings.
5. Serves as a community resource through media and other forums.
6. Works with staff accountant to create and manage the agency’s budget and finances, including all income sources and agency expenses.
7. Ensures annual audit of all accounts by an external auditing agency.
8. Seeks ongoing additional funding that aligns with the agency’s mission.
9. Participates in local fundraising efforts.
10. Manages and supervises employees in accordance with agency personnel policies.
11. Evaluates all employees on a regular schedule.
12. Makes final decisions on hiring and terminating staff.
13. Notifies Board of Directors of any/all staff changes.
14. Enhances capabilities of professional and office staff through opportunities for continuing education/training.
15. Encourages and assists agency-wide communication.
16. Works with staff accountant to provide monthly fiscal reports to the Board of Directors, including budgeted income and expenses vs. actual income and expenses.
17. Maintains a strategic plan for ongoing funding for the agency, enacting that plan in consultation with the Board of Directors.
18. Meets regularly with the Board of Directors, including attending all Board of Directors’ meetings and Executive Committee meetings.
19. Other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.
